WORD!

Man, it sure is nasty outside today. Nothing like good ole Luziana weather....wet, humid, muggy and cloudy. What a delightful way to start the weekend! Ugh.

I love Friday's, I mean, who doesn't? This weekend should be a pretty easy one, the social calendar isn't (for once) overbooked. I guess my weekend started last night. Me, Megan and Jeff went and had a few adult beverages...and celebrated Megan's birthday all at the same time! Good times! Tonight, I will be making the journey to (DIS) Graces Lounge in the lovely town of Gonzales with Jeff and Heather to see Jeff's brothers band play! Needless to say, I already need a drink thinking about it! Tomorrow is the first Mardi Gras parade of the season...downtown Baton Rouge, the Krewe of Jupiter rolls at 6:30! YAY! I am doing the Mardi Gras Mambo as we speak! LOL

Let me backtrack for a minute. Yesterday afternoon, my lil sis called me and wanted to go to lunch. I promptly got my keys and headed to PoBoy Express (yum yum for my tum tum) on Cedarcrest to meet Lynsey and Landon. When I got there, they were pulling in at the same time. I was so excited to see the both of them! My sister got out of her grocery getter looking like Jane Fonda or something...I asked her if she had been working out, and we all know the answer to that. I am not sure if she had even picked up her hand weights that she requested for Christmas yet! Then, we opened the back door and there was my heart and soul grinning from ear to ear in his WHO D@ onsie that I got him from my friend Lauren's shop Fleurty Girl in New Orleans last month.....btw...check out her stuff... www.fleurtygirl.net . I got Landon out of his car seat and we went inside. Of course there is about 8 ceiling fans in the establishment so he was immediately no longer interested in me, but the fans! The child LOVES a ceiling fan, just like I STILL do at 30 years of age. Let me just say that since I was a lil boy, my aunts and grandma tell me all the time that I have always loved a ceiling fan. Weird, absolutely, so weird that when I was about 2, my aunt Connie got me an airbrushed t shirt that had a ceiling fan on the front and on the back it said "You're a weird one" Go figure. Anyway, we were placing our orders and the lady working behind the counter was telling us how cute he was and then she asked how old is he.....we both said "9 months" 9 MONTHS ALREADY. Its just so hard to believe that at this time last year, he was still being incubated in my sisters belly, and the only thing that we could do is feel him move, now I can feed him his puffs at the table, give him his bottle with water and ask him where the fan is and he will look up at the ceiling. Its so amazing to know that I am an uncle. I have a nephew. I finally know what it feels like to love another human being unconditionally. Landon has changed my life in so many ways, its just so hard to describe. SO, this morning when I logged on to Facebook, I realized that my sister had edited her "About Me " section, so immediately I had to see what she added or deleted....I have to be honest, it was so Lynsey to the tee. So I started my workday with a few tears! :) Anyway, back to the subject at hand.....we had a fantastic lunch and I can't wait to see them this weekend! We have a tenative date with Lindseyaya and her brood to go to the zoo on Sunday and I am so looking forward to that!!!!

Hope you have a fantastic weekend, because I plan to!

WHO D@ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! How frekin' awesome was my weekend?!?!?! AND what about my Saints going to the SUPER BOWL!!!! Now, let me just admit that I am by NO means a die hard fan, but this year has been exceptional as far as my love for LSU Football and Saints Football. I even learned a few new things...such as what a "safety" is... what a "touchback" is...you know, Football 101 stuff that I, as a 30 year old man should know! LOL

Friday night, I went with Stacy S. to see Better Than Ezra for the 47875970987764th time. We started at Superior Grill for a few adult beverages, then moved the party to the Varsity. It was super duper packed, as always...smokey and did I say PACKED....as in Sardine packed. We gathered around the back bar and watched the show, all while getting banged up and bumped every 5 seconds from some 20 year old frat boy douche, or some 18 year old chick in her "new black dress" with 8 inch stripper heels. In case any of those chicks didn't get the memo...DON'T WEAR STILETTO'S IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO WALK IN THEM! After about an hour and a half of THAT, we went to the Station. Enough Said. I am 30, no longer in my twenties which means, sooner or later, I am going to get sick of the same ole bars in this one horse town. Again, I digress.

SATURDAY, I went over to Terry's house and Sheri came over. I don't know what the highlight of the first hour of the visit was...had to be between Terry's drunkeness from the NIGHT before or the fact that Marlee (Samantha's Lab) greeted me at the back door with a fresh, dead squirrel in her mouth and then proceeded to chase me around WITH the squirrel in her mouth. Gross. The 3 musketeers then went to the Chimes East where we met up with Jesse, Farron, Hali, Allison and Heather!!! It was good to get together with them!!! WHILE at lunch, I got the best text message EVER...it was from my roomie, Jamie Lea saying that we were going to NOLA that night!!! I was ecstatic, because 80% of my friend base was going to be down in my city!!! After the Chimes, we went over to my brother in laws parents house cuz thats where my lil sis, Landon and Lou were, so we figured we would swing by for a brief appearance! Mrs. Donna (Lou's mom) tends to get camera happy, which I am glad she does cuz she always gets the best candid pictures...like this one:
After we left there, I had to meet up with the fam to celebrate my Paw Paw's 75th birthday at Don's Seafood. It was nice to see everyone, but I had to scoot out early so that I could get to NOLA!!! AS ALWAYS, a blast was had down in the Big Easy! TONS of folks down there, TONS of fun and TONS of FLAMING DR. PEPPERS from the Goldmine!!!
SUNDAY we left New Orleans but NOT before stopping at Rally's for some greasy food....and if Rally's wasn't enough, I decided I needed a soft taco or 2 or 3 from Taco Bell! LOL When we got home, we literally watched TV all day and didn't retreat from Jamie's bedroom all day with the exception to make a yummy supper which was baked chicken breast stuffed with broccoli and rice, salad and green beans! So yummy, then I decided that we needed to bake cookies.....as if I didn't have enough JUNK already!!!
I got a good nights rest and returned to work today bright eyed and bushy tailed! The weather outside is frekin' awesome and I wish I could remote in from outside, but thats wishful thinking!!

YAY for a Black and Gold Super Bowl!!

Workin' for the WeEkEnD!

....Don't ask me why I decided to type "weekend" like that.... I am in a super RARE mood today...which is a good thing!

HAPPY FRIDAY! Let me just say that I had an amazing night with Shelly and Tommy Girl last night! Its always nice to have an evening of 500% pure FUN....and thats what he had!!! YAY!

The clock is moving at a snails pace today, and I am not to thrilled about that. I need 5pm to hurry the HELL up! My social calendar is once again full this weekend...but what's new?! Tonight, Stacy Simmons and myself are going to the world famous Varsity to see Better Than Ezra (because I haven't seen them 7635373956 times already)!!!! Tomorrow, I need to tackle some domestic duties, it appears that Katrina has visited my bedroom, hence the reason I need a frekin' maid!! Saturday evening, I will join the entire fam to celebrate my Paw Paw's birthday and Sunday of course, I will be at the Buuck Compound with my faves...I hope the weather is super nice because I would like to take Landon to the zoo. Not that he even cares one way or another, but I haven't been to the zoo in a coon's age! THEN, my Saints play at 5:40....speaking of, instead of the zoo, maybe I need to take Landon on his first stroll down Bourbon Street!!! How much fun would my lil moose have?!?!? Probably not as much fun as his Uncle Doogie!!
OK, I am off to save the world! Hope you have a fanfrekintastic weekend, cuz I plan to!!
Ciao!

I would like to...

Welcome myself to the world of blogging. This is something that is new to me, however, I am no stranger to reading other folks' blogs.

I often wonder why it has taken me so long to start a blog. I mean, who isn't interested in my day to day life......right? Well, just sit back and enjoy the ride...and always make sure that your seat belts are fastened, your tray table is in its upright and locked position and all electronic devices are properly stowed! We are ready for take off!!

How do you even start your very first topic of your very first blog? The first thing that comes to my mind is what in the heck is going on today.... Haiti - the millions of people over there that are searching, hurting, hoping and helping. I do want to say THANKS to our military, volunteers, doctors and nurses that are risking their own lives to help those in need. It truly is a sad, sad situation. To help out.... http://www.redcross.org/.

Back over on the main land, I am not going to waste much time on the Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien fiasco. I am sick and tired of hearing the words..."Late Night", "Jay Leno", "Conan", "NBC", "Contracts" blah blah blah...and this to me is HARDLY breaking news. I mean, the lead story on the Today Show this morning was "CONAN SETTLES WITH NBC". For the love, you would think that a MAJOR network would know better than to define some internal battles with these two people (who I have never thought were funny) as BREAKING NEWS. I digress.

On the work-front today, its rather slow. I am thinking that this is the calm before the storm though. One of our agencies has 2 huge pitches next week for new business. One is in Tampa, the other in Washington DC, which would be HUGE for us! Fingers and Toes are crossed!!

Tuesday and Wednesday were awesome days because I got a bunch of brand new toys at work! Having such an intensive background in radio, I felt like my agency was lacking a few valuable services that we could offer our clients and not waste money on outsourcing, so after months of waiting, that has finally become reality. We have a brand new, state of the art, audio suite that is capable of a ton of things which I won't go into detail about because it's no fun reading about something you know nothing about, right?!

Before I go, let me introduce you to 2 of my favorite folks in the whole wide world....

Above is my "Lil Sis" Lynsey and my first nephew Landon. They are the reasons that I wake up everyday! Not to leave out Lou, my brother in law, but as this blog grows, there will be plenty of opportunity for more photos.....OH, what the heck...

Isn't this just a LOVELY pic of Lou?!

YAY! I am proud of my first post. I need to figure out how to get fancy with posting links and pics though!
